Paris—May 29, 2019

Today in Paris: sunny cool day and a Metro ride to the Musée d’art Moderne da la Ville de Paris, where we were stunned by the beauty of the courtyard, notwithstanding some construction underway in the building. We saw a number of works of Etienne-Martin including a fabulous wire drawing of 1959. Then a stroll through a farmer’s market, where we bought some Turkish dried apricots to keep us energetic during our visit to the Louvre next. Well, Louvre staff were on strike on Monday and are negotiating new terms, but they opened (late) today, fully staffed, and we managed to get in. Lost track of the hours in there, but we passed by dozens of giant canvases (Delacroix et alia).  Here is a selection of the photos I took:
