Ya-Ching Hsu received a BA in French Language and Culture at Fu Jen Catholic University and a Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at National Taiwan Normal University. She also holds the Certificate of Qualification to Teach Mandarin Chinese as a Second Language from Ministry of Education in Taiwan. She has been teaching Chinese language since 2009 and her teaching experience ranges from beginning to advanced level courses. Before joining Penn, she had been working as a language Lecturer in the Chinese program at Hamilton College from 2014 to 2016 and Bucknell University from 2016 to 2017. She is currently teaching Beginning Chinese I, Intermediate Reading and Writing Chinese I (for fluent speakers) and coordinating Intensive Beginning Chinese I & II at Penn. Her research interests focus on language task/activity material design.
