Grad Conference 2018

Bodies and Borders:

Inclusion, Exclusion, and Excision in East Asia

April 21st-22nd, 2018 at the University of Pennsylvania

The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Pennsylvania presents its second annual graduate student conference: Bodies and Borders: Inclusion, Exclusion, and Excision in East Asia. This two-day conference provides a forum for graduate students from regional institutions to examine how the physical, legal, scientific, religious, and sociopolitical bodies and boundaries of East Asia (China, Japan, Korea, and Mongolia) have been defined in the past and explore how they are being reimagined in the present.
