Brooke McCorkle talks about Don Carlo at Opera Philadelphia

On April 14-15, 2015, Brooke McCorkle, who has recently defended her dissertation in the Music Department, is the invited speaker within the series Between the Notes to talk about Don Carlo by Giuseppe Verdi, the opera that will soon be performed at the Academy of Music (from April 24 to May 5) within the current 2014-15 season, co-produced by Opera Philadelphia with Washington National Opera and Minnesota Opera.

Maria Murphy talks about Ariadne auf Naxos at Opera Philadelphia

On February 24-25, 2015, graduate student Maria Murphy, whose work concerns gender and sexuality in opera, was the invited speaker within the series Between the Notes at Opera Philadelphia. Her talk dealt with Ariadne auf Naxos by Richard Strauss, the opera that is soon to be performed at the Kimmel Center (March 4, 6, and 8) within the current 2014-15 season (Aurora series), co-produced with the Curtis Institute of Music.

Brooke McCorkle defends her dissertation

Today, from 9:30am to 11:00am in room 102 of the Music Building, Brooke McCorkle has succesfully defended her dissertation entitled: Searching for Wagner in Japan. Her Committee included Professors Jeffrey Kallberg, Carolyn Abbate, and Ayako Kano. Congratulations, Brooke!
