Shitao Wang was born and grew up in Wuhan, a big city in the central part of China. After he received his B.Sc. Degree from Zhengzhou University (2010) and Master’s degree (2013) from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, he joined Professor Makoto Fujita’s lab and obtained his Ph.D. degree in applied chemistry in 2016 at the University of Tokyo, Japan. During his Ph.D. studies, his research interests mainly focused on the self-assembly of giant metal-organic supramolecular capsules. After a short period of postdoctoral research in the same group, he joined Professor Virgil Percec’s group (August 2017) at the University of Pennsylvania as a postdoctoral researcher, partially supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) research fellowship. His current research interests focus on the synthesis and self-assembly of ABn dendrimers. Besides chemistry, he likes jogging, playing badminton, and reading novels.
