Transportation

The workshop venue is walking distance from the 30th Street Station Amtrak train stop, and about 15 minutes by taxi/uber from Philadelphia International Airport. It is also possible to take the SEPTA regional rail airport line from Philadelphia International Airport to campus, which takes about 25 minutes.

Accommodations

We encourage workshop participants to make hotel reservations as soon as possible!

The week of April 25th will be an extremely busy one in Philadelphia. In addition to a major conference of the Risk Management Society and Penn Relays (a major athletic event that attracts thousands of track and field athletes from around the world), the NFL draft will be held in Philadelphia for the first time this week. Rooms for the nights of April 23, 24, 25, and 26 will be expensive and/or in short supply.

One good option is to stay at the Philadelphia Airport, which is just south of campus. A cluster of hotels including aLoft Philadelphia Airport, Doubletree Philadelphia Airport, Hawthorn Suites Philadelphia Airport, and Sheraton Suites Philadelphia Airport have availability at reasonable prices.  We will plan to provide shuttle bus transportation from these hotels (see map below) to the workshop in the morning, and back again in the evening. Alternatively, getting a taxi/uber to/from these hotels will be very easy, and some hotels may run complimentary shuttles.
