A Transatlantic research network revisiting the migration-development nexus in light of the latest findings in cognitive sciences.

The aims of the network are twofold: first, to build a transatlantic research network gathering social scientists and cognitive scientists, from the US and Europe; and second, to bring together scholars, practitioners and policymakers to deepen our collective understanding of the cognitive impacts of migration on migrants and receiving societies.

We are notably working on:

  • organizing an annual workshop rotating between the US and Europe,
  • publishing a special issue in an international peer-reviewed journal,
  • developing a research project and applying for subsequent funding.

The first workshop has been held at U Penn (USA), in May 2017. The second workshop will be organized in Oxford (UK) in 2018. A third public event will be held at the U Penn thanks to the support of the Dean’s Integrative Global Inquiries Fund Award (School of Arts and Sciences, University of Pennsylvania).
