Congratulations to Dr. Yang
The Murray Lab would like to congratulate Dr. Shengsong Yang on successful defending his PhD thesis. Shengsong will be working as a postdoctoral researcher in Alivisatos’ lab at the University of Chicago in the summer. We wish him the best!
Congratulations to Yifan Ning for being BWISE Recipients of the 2023
Brookhaven Women in Science (BWIS) has named Anushka Banerjee and Yifan Ning the 2023 recipients of the Renate W. Chasman Award. Congratulations, Yifan!
The Chasman Award encourages women to pursue careers in the science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) fields and honors the memory and scientific contributions of Renate Chasman (1932-1977), a noted physicist at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Her work influenced the design of particle accelerators around the world, including Brookhaven’s National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS) and its successor, NSLS-II.

Dr. Christopher B. Murray Elected to the National Academy of Engineering!

Dr. Christopher B. Murray, Richard Perry University Professor and Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) for “invention and development of solvothermal synthesis of monodisperse nanocrystal quantum dots for displays, photovoltaics, and memory”.
Congratulations to Dr. Oh
The Murray lab would like to thank Dr. Nuri Oh for his contributions over the last two years. Nuri is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea. He will continue his research on optoelectronic nanomaterials and devices. We wish him the best!
Congratulations to Dr. Jishkariani
The Murray lab would like to thank Dr. Davit Jishkariani for all of his wonderful contributions to our group over the last several years as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. Davit has accepted a position as the Associate Technical Director of the Chemical and Nanoparticle Synthesis Core (CNSC), which is part of the Perelman School of Medicine at Penn. He will be working with faculty members to provide chemical, nanoparticle, and medicinal compounds for a variety of research purposes. We wish him the best and look forward to future collaborations with him!

The Murray lab would like to congratulate Dr. Stan Najmr on earning his PhD. Stan will be working for L’Oreal US in the Research and Innovation division as a Senior Scientist, where his upstream work will impact products in each of the company’s 34 brands. We wish him the best.
