Mission Statement:
The X-ray facility in the Department of Chemistry is in operation to provide efficient, high quality three dimensional X-ray structural determinations of synthetically important molecules produced in the various synthetic laboratories in the department.
This website uses the Jmol molecular visualization system in archiving completed structure determinations. To explore some of the capabilities of Jmol, follow this link.
The X-ray facility contains two instruments for single crystal X-ray crystallography experiments. The facility is located in B31 (enter through B35) of Chemistry ’73 building. To contact the facility, please follow the link below.
Powder X-ray diffraction or X-ray scattering experiments are available through the UPenn Department of Material Science and Engineering.
