课文(一):运动员为什么要做尿检

2007年,美国女子短跑运动员琼斯因为服用兴奋剂,不得不交出她在2000年奥运会上获得的五枚奖牌,还被禁赛两年。

兴奋剂原来是指能够刺激人体神经系统、提高人体机能的药物,后来指各种有助于运动员提高成绩的药物。使用兴奋剂,不但违反了公平原则,而且会损害运动员的身心健康。

现在的兴奋剂检测,主要有尿检血检两种方法,最常用的是尿检。尿液比血液稳定,也更容易检测,而且尿检取样方便、对人体没有损害、准确性高。

尿检,就是对运动员的尿液样本进行化验。人体在服用或者注射药物以后,药物及其代谢产物在一定时间内或多或少要出现在尿液中。借助各种现代科学仪器对尿液进行化验,就能知道运动员有没有使用兴奋剂。

随着科学技术的发展,尿检的方法越来越多样,也越来越方便、准确。最新的生物芯片技术,只需要一滴尿液,就能在短时间内检测出多种兴奋剂,不但灵敏度比较高,而且操作简单,检测的范围也很广。

Text (1): Why do athletes have to do urine tests?

In 2007, U.S. sprinter Jones had to hand over five medals she won at the 2000 Olympics and was also banned for two years because she was taking stimulants.

Stimulants originally refer to drugs that can stimulate the human nervous system and improve body function. Recently it refers to a variety of drugs that help athletes improve their performance. The use of stimulants not only violates the principle of fairness, but also impairs the physical and mental health of athletes.
