UPDATE ON CONFERENCE:

In light of recent policies regarding COVID-19, and in accordance with the cautionary actions taken by the Penn community as a whole, we have decided to alter the format of the conference by moving online. Due to the bandwidth constraints of teleconferencing platforms, however, we will be adopting an “asynchronous online” option.

Our plan of action is as follows:

  • The deadline for paper submissions has been extended to March 20 (Friday) to accommodate those affected by recent developments.
  • As an alternative to in-person conference discussions, we will circulate submitted papers within the panel and invite panelists to comment on each other’s works. To keep this easy, we recommend doing so in email chains with ealcgradcon@gmail.com cc’d.
  • Panelists who are interested are also invited to submit videos of their presentations by April 2 (Thursday). These will be uploaded to the conference website and open to all for comments.
  • We ask that all comments and feedback on papers and videos be circulated by April 4 (Saturday, the day of the conference) so as to maintain original time commitments.
  • Discussants will still be providing feedback to panelists. However, we ask for your understanding that due to the increase in workload caused by the transition to remote teaching, brevity might be expected.

We thank you for your support and patience. This experiment in intellectual exchange through an online conference is one we hope will work for all of us. Please do feel free to let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
