Wei Guo
Class of 1965 Term Professor of Biology
Wei Guo is the Class of 1965 Term Professor of Biology. Guo is a leading expert in cell biology, with special emphasis on molecular mechanisms of exocytic trafficking. His pioneering work on extracellular vesicles significantly influenced the current understanding of cancer metastasis and immune suppression. He has an extensive publication record in some of the most prestigious journals in his field, and serves on the editorial boards of journals such as Molecular Biology of the Cell and Cytoskeleton. Guo was chosen as a Pew Scholar in Biomedical Sciences and a recipient of an American Heart Association Established Investigator Award. At Penn, Guo has served as a member of the Committee for Undergraduate Education and the University Council Committee on Diversity and Equality, among other roles.
