A coalition of Penn professors directed by Russian and East European Studies professor Mitchell Orenstein recently launched a new European Studies Institute at the University.
Penn’s new European Studies Institute creates a focal point for student research and connections around European institutions. “Countries that have fought for hundreds of years are now at peace,” says Mitchell Orenstein of the School of Arts & Science. “It’s its own security community, and that’s an important model for a world that is increasingly immersed in conflict.”
