The Geophysical and Environmental Flows Laboratory (GEFLOW) is a research group in the Earth and Environmental Science Department at the University of Pennsylvania.
GEFLOW’s mission seeks to contribute to the comprehension of fluid flows in nature, putting emphasis on the physics and functioning of aquatic ecosystems. Driven by understanding the complex pathways of water and its constituents, GEFLOW’s vision is to advance towards connecting boundary processes with global properties of surface and subsurface waters. GEFLOW combines fluid mechanics principles, numerical simulations, laboratory experiments, and field observations to unravel the physics and develop mathematical models for characterising natural fluid flows.
