I am a master’s student at the University of Chile, undertaking a research internship at GEFLOW. My primary goal involves investigating the heat transfer phenomena within highly constrained spatial environments. Within the framework of my internship, I am actively engaged in defining the physical bounds of a two-dimensional (2D) model applied to Hele-Shaw cells through high-fidelity numerical simulations. This model is significant due to its instrumental role in replicating porous media within a laboratory setting. Its specific utility lies in its capacity to model fluid flow characteristics within highly permeable structures, applicable to phenomena such as liquid flow through geological faults or fractures in the Earth’s crust.
