Global Medieval & Renaissance Studies at the University of Pennsylvania will hold its inaugural Colloquium for graduate and undergraduate students on March 19, 2022 10am-5pm at the Kislak Center’s Class of ‘78 Orrery Pavilion at Van Pelt Library. This event is co-sponsored by: The Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts; Center for Italian Studies; East Asian Languages and Civilizations; History; GMRS; Italian Section @ Romance Languages. The event will feature papers from students of Classics, East Asian Studies, English and Comparative Literature, History, Italian Studies.
During the day, there will also be a selection of several hundred free books to be given away from the collection of a distinguished emeritus faculty member at Penn. The books include classic and hard-to-find texts in medieval history, art, literature, and religion in English, French, and German. They will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
