HAPPY (Harmonic Analysis People’s Presentations on YouTube), an NSF sponsored YouTube channel created in Fall 2021, is a platform dedicated to the field of harmonic analysis. Harmonic analysis is a branch of mathematics concerned with the representation of functions or signals as the superposition of basic waves, and the study of and generalization of the notions of Fourier series and Fourier transform.

We hope that the channel will grow into a hub of the field, where various talk series and events with different mission are organized. No matter who you are, a seasoned harmonic analyst, a researcher in a related field, a beginning student, or someone who is simply interested in learning what this field is about, we hope you find this channel somewhat informative, entertaining, and thought provoking.

In Fall 2021, we launched three pilot series: Hello, World!, Title Tracks, and Director’s Cuts. Please check them out and let us know if you are interested in participating.

If you have an idea of a series to host on the channel, feel free to reach out to us by email (harmonic-analysis@sas.upenn.edu) or by contacting any one of the organizers.
