As part of a new initiative in Integrative Language Science and Technology, the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for up to two interdisciplinary postdoctoral positions. Applicants with well-developed research programs within any of the following areas are encouraged to apply: linguistics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, and/or computational linguistics. We are especially interested in individuals whose research skills and methods complement but do not completely overlap those already represented at the University of Pennsylvania. Individuals are expected to take a leading role in their own research, to collaborate with Penn faculty, to offer occasional tutorials in their area of expertise, and to take advantage of opportunities to supervise graduate and undergraduate students who are engaged in language research. Salary is commensurate with University guidelines (https://almanac.upenn.edu/articles/of-record-fy2018-postdoc-stipends). Some additional funds will be available to support research and travel.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Linguistics, Psychology, or a related field is required and must be completed before starting the position. One need not be a U.S. Citizen to apply.
Application Process: Review of applications begins immediately, with applications considered on a rolling basis. Candidates should send a cover letter, a CV, research statement, and samples of written work to ILST co-Directors John Trueswell and Charles Yang at firstname.lastname@example.org. Candidates should also arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent to that same email.
