May grew up in Lebanon, where she completed her BS in Chemistry and MS in physical chemistry at the American University of Beirut. During her masters at AUB, May worked on nickel-based phosphides and hydroxides electrocatalysts for water splitting.
Currently, as a PhD student in the Mallouk group, May’s work is centered upon optimizing electrode material and bipolar membranes in redox flow batteries.
Outside of the research lab, May is passionate about digital art and tennis.
