Wenxiao Deng grew up in Shenyang, China. She then moved to Texas at the age of 16 for high school. She completed her undergraduate degree at Emory University, GA, where she received a B.S. in Chemistry and Applied Mathematics. During her undergraduate career, Wenxiao designed polyvalent DNA nanoscale motors under the mentorship of Dr. Khalid Salaita.

Currently, as a graduate student in the Mallouk group, Wenxiao is studying pH and electric field profile in bipolar membrane junctions with transmission spectroscopy.

Outside of the research lab, Wenxiao enjoys reading, playing card games, and traveling.
