Nuno Sousa Pereira

Nuno Sousa Pereira, Researcher on the MSE Project, is a Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Director of the Centre for Finance and Economics, both at the University of Porto, in Portugal. His research focuses on the health care industry and spans topics such as pharmaceuticals, vaccine-supply, and health and entrepreneurship.

Nuno holds BA and MA degrees in Economics from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Porto and a PhD in Managerial Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Amongst other functions, Nuno has worked as Director-General in the Finance Ministry of Portugal, as member of the Board of Directors representing Portugal for the European Investment Bank and, as head of the Portuguese Delegation of the Economic Policy Committees of the European Union and of the OECD, and as Dean of Porto Business School.
