Our research is interdisciplinary and lies at the intersection of climate dynamics, physical oceanography, biogeochemistry and ecosystem dynamics. Our goal is to advance the knowledge of ocean biogeochemistry, physics, and ecology, as well as the ocean-atmosphere interactions, and thereby contribute to a better understanding of both past and future climate change. As modelers, we work with global climate models, and also analyze satellite observations and field measurements of ocean and atmospheric variables. Currently, we are focused on the following research topics:
- The distinct role of Southern Ocean dynamics in the global climate
- The response of ocean biogeochemistry to climate change, including feedbacks
- Ocean ecology projects
- Global Climate Impacts and Digital Climate Atlas
I am looking for undergraduate and PhD students in all of the above areas of research!
