Graduate Student Resources

The Office of Academic Excellence and Engagement (OAEE) supports the academic journey and experience of Graduate Students in the School of Arts and Sciences.

We collaborate closely with the Associate Dean, staff members from the Graduate Division, and academic and institutional leaders to provide SAS graduate students with impactful programming. We provide access to resources to support graduate students’ academic endeavors, professional development, and individual needs to help them navigate and thrive as both independent and collaborative scholars at Penn.

Associate Vice Dean Vanessa Gonzalez-Perez, is available to meet with graduate students to provide individual or group support in areas including but not limited to:

  • Mentorship and advising
  • Coaching sessions for effective communication with advisors and peers
  • Graduate student group support and leadership development
  • Support navigating graduate school milestones
  • Referrals to institutional resources and other key offices

Our office aims to become an approachable and visible resource for graduate students within SAS.
