Postdoctoral Scholars Resources

The Office for Academic Excellence and Engagement (OAEE) supports the journey and experience of postdoctoral scholars in the School of Arts & Sciences.

The success of postdoctoral scholars at Penn is important to us. To support the success of our postdocs we assist with the transition to Penn and provide professional and personal development. We accomplish this through collaboration with Penn’s Office for Postdoctoral Affairs, housed within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, and postdoc leadership groups such as the Penn Postdoctoral Association and Penn Dubois Circle. Together, we work as a network to build a supportive and thriving community of postdoctoral scholars.

Associate Vice Dean Vanessa Gonzalez-Perez, is available to meet with postdoctoral scholars and provide individual or leadership group support in areas including but not limited to:

  • New postdoc orientation
  • Mentorship and advising
  • Coaching sessions for effective communication with peers and supervisors
  • Support fot leadership initiatives
  • Navigating Penn resources
  • Referrals to institutional resources and other offices

Our office aims to become an approachable and visible resource to Postdoctoral Scholars within SAS..
