The Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) supports the academic journey and experience of graduate students in the School of Arts and Sciences.

We collaborate closely with the Associate Dean and staff from the Graduate Division, as well as academic and institutional leaders, to provide SAS graduate students with impactful programming. We provide access to resources that support graduate student’s academic endeavors, professional development, and personal needs to help them navigate, grow, and thrive as both independent and collaborative scholars at Penn.
Associate Vice Dean Vanessa Gonzalez-Perez, is available to meet with graduate students and provide individual or group support in areas including but not limited to:
- Diversity, equity and inclusion topics
- Advocacy
- Mentorship/Advising
- Effective communication with advisors and peers
- Graduate student leadership
- Navigating graduate school
- Referrals to institutional resources and other key offices
Our goal is to become an approachable and accessible resource for graduate students.
