The aim of the Philadelphia Signs Project is to document how Philly ASL compares to other forms of ASL. We’re video recording conversational interviews with Deaf Philadelphians who have used ASL since early childhood. The interviews are being annotated in ELAN and will eventually be made public so that they can be used by educators, interpreters, researchers, and the Deaf community.

This project is made possible by pilot funding from a University of Pennsylvania School of Arts and Sciences Research Opportunity Grant.
