Favorite philosophy course:
I have taken many amazing Philosophy courses over my four years at Penn. All of them asked me to question long held assumptions and think through exciting new possibilities. Forced to choose one, however, I would have to name the “Feminist Philosophy” course that I took my Sophomore Fall as my favorite philosophy course simply because of how much the course content continued to influence me in its relevancy throughout the rest of my time at Penn. Being introduced to knowledge standpoint theory so early on in my education proved particularly invaluable as I was able to ground intuitions from my life experience in a useful epistemological framework. I carried the readings from that class into everything from Art History seminars to winning arguments with friends and family – possibly the most rewarding payoff of a Philosophy degree.
