We will discuss some of the standard extensions of the idea of curvature to general metric spaces. In particular we will define and think a bit about delta-hyperbolic and CAT(0) spaces. Time permitting, we will also briefly mention some newer ideas based on transport of balls. You can understand this talk even (maybe especially) if you don’t know what “curvature” means in the Riemannian context.
