Littlewood-Richardson coefficients are structure constants appearing in various topics. The saturation conjecture (now a theorem) is about the vanishing of these constants. First I will introduce some background materials. Then I will discuss a combinatorial (but indirect) proof of this theorem, first given by Allen Knutson and Terence Tao, following an exposition of Anders Buch.
