Abstract:
The Hodge conjecture is a major unsolved problem in the field of (complex) algebraic geometry which was introduced by Scottish mathematician William Vallance Douglas Hodge in 1930s. It is also widely known as being one of the Millennium Prize problems. In this talk, I will introduce this conjecture and try to explain why it is expected to be true (or not).
