Arushi Saxena, Editor-in-Chief
Major: PPE (Choice & Behavior)
Minor: Survey Research & Data Analytics
Bio: Arushi is a junior from Monte Sereno, CA, studying PPE with an SRDA minor.
She is also getting her Master’s in Behavioral and Decision Sciences. Outside of
the classroom, her research work with the NAACP, the Biden campaign, and
NBC Decision Desk highlights her commitment to equity and evidence-based
policymaking. She also volunteers with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project and
WeVote and is dedicated to shaping a more inclusive future.

Fun Fact: I’ve played guitar for over 14 years!

          Camilla Valente, Executive Assistant
Majors: Economics, PPE
Minor: East Asian Languages and Civilizations
Bio: Camilla is a junior from Washington DC, originally from Italy. Alongside her
PPE major, she is pursuing minors in Economics and East Asian Languages and Civilizations, with a target language of Chinese. Her areas of interest are international
development, Chinese geopolitics, and emerging markets. Apart from the
PPE UAB, she is also part of Penn for Refugee Empowerment, Wharton
Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Consulting, and iDev.
Fun Fact: In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and exploring

new restaurants in the Philadelphia area.

Selma Farsakh Ulm, Associate Editor
Majors: PPE (Globalization), Gender History
Bio: Selma is an undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania and
research assistant to Associate Professor Franca Trubiano on research in the
area of building labor ethics and law, specifically interested in forced labor.
Aside from research, she is Diversity and Coalitions director of
PennDems, UPenn’s Democratic Party.

Fun Fact: I have never been to Taco Bell!

 

Gretel Tassah, Associate Editor
Majors: PPE (Public Policy and Governance)
Bio: Gretel is a Stavros Niarchos Foundation Paideia Fellow and Fall 2024
Penn In Washington Scholar, as well as a member of the Black Women and Femmes
in Philosophy Club and Petey Greene Tutoring Program. In her free time, she enjoys attending the Philadelphia Orchestra and trips to Cira Greene.

Fun Fact: She has a cousin named Hansel.

Olivia Lee, Associate Editor
Majors: PPE (Public Policy and Governance)
Bio: Olivia is a senior from Bedford, MA studying PPE with a concentration
in Public Policy and Governance. Following a year at the London School of
Economics, Olivia is returning to Penn with a newfound appreciation for
global political issues, creative writing, and cross-cultural exchange.
Outside of academics, Olivia loves spending time with her cat
named Shira and exploring different coffee shops.

Fun Fact: I transferred to Penn from UMass!

Hannah Lee, Associate Editor
Majors: PPE (Choice and Behavior), Psychology
Minor: Music
Bio: Hannah is a junior in the College interested in interpretations of
human behavior on an individual and social scale. When she’s not running to
and from rehearsal (Penn Symphony, Penn Singers, Penn Chamber, you name it),
she’s probably in lab (GSE’s Center for Benefit-Cost Studies of Education and
Penn Positive Psychology). After obtaining her Master’s, she plans to
pursue a PhD in Education Policy.

Fun Fact: I grew up in Minnesota!

Abigail Xu, Associate Editor
Major: PPE (Choice and Behavior)
Minor: Data Science and Analytics
Bio: Hi, I’m Abigail! I’m majoring in PPE with a concentration in Choice
and Behavior, and minoring in Data Science and Analytics. In my free time,
I enjoy scrolling on TikTok, playing games, baking, and hanging out with my cat.
In the future, I hope to work at the intersection of policy, business, and data science.

Fun Fact: I used to be a competitive archer!

Deiya Pandya, Associate Editor
Major: PPE (Globalization)
Minor: History, Legal Studies and History
Bio: Deiya is a Sophomore studying PPE with a concentration in Globalization.
Alongside her major, she is pursuing the History and Legal Studies minor.
At Penn, Deiya is the Music Director of Penn Atma, a member of Pi Lambda Sigma (POLIS), and a tutor with the West Philadelphia Tutoring Project. In her free time,
she enjoys watching movies, visiting museums, and spending time with her friends.

Fun Fact: Deiya’s a big fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars!

Lavanya Jasra, Associate Editor
Major: PPE (Public Policy and Governance)
Minor: Legal Studies and History
Bio: Lavanya is an undergraduate from New Jersey studying PPE
with a minor in Legal Studies and History. In addition to PPE, Lavanya is a member
of Penn Mock Trial, the Daily Pennsylvanian, and Phi Alpha Delta. In her free time,
Lavanya loves to play the piano and guitar, write her own songs, and work out.

Fun Fact: I am a third-degree black belt in Karate!

Hudson Vance, Associate Editor
Major: PPE (Public Policy and Governance)
Bio: Hudson is a senior from New York, NY who is majoring in PPE with a
concentration in Public Policy and Governance. He has a particular interest
in the intersection of law, politics, and philosophy.

Fun Fact: I love podcasts.

Emilia Bronk, Associate Editor
Majors: PPE (Public Policy and Governance), Earth Science
Minor: Urban Studies
Bio: As a PPE/EESC Major, Emilia focuses a lot on environmental and urban policy.
She’s also actively involved in Penn’s performing arts scene as Mask and Wig’s
assistant head writer and the SMAC chair for the Performing Arts Council!

Fun Fact: I have been studying Mandarin since 6th grade.

Krishna Khawani, Associate Editor
Majors: PPE (Distributive Justice)
Minor: Legal Studies & History
Bio: Krishna Khawani is a sophomore from Irvine, CA, studying PPE
Distributive Justice with a minor in Legal Studies and History. He’s involved
in Penn Mock Trial, the Penn Undergraduate Research Journal, and is a
captain for Penn Dhamaka. In his free time, he loves to try new food,
dance, and binge TV series.
Fun Fact: Krishna has been doing magic tricks since he was 8!
