Dr. Serafín Coronel-Molina, Quechua scholar: recognition event
On Friday April 16th, 2021 we hosted a virtual recognition of Dr. Serafín Coronel-Molina, Penn Alumnus and Quechua scholar, for his contributions as a leader on Indigenous Languages revitalization, and also as pioneer on the early efforts to create a Quechua language program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Coronel-Molina, originally from the villa of Antaqutra (Junín) in the Peruvian Andes, is a professor at Indiana University. He is a renowned scholar on Sociolinguistics and Educational Linguistics
The event was organized by the Quechua Language program with the support of the Association of Native Alumni at the University of Pennsylvania.
