Flathead Beacon, a daily online newspaper based in Kalispell, Montana, is looking for a journalism intern to spend 10 weeks with us this summer.

The ideal candidate will be eager to take on a heavy workload, balancing enterprise reporting for our quarterly magazine with daily assignments for the web. He or she will also be responsible for writing a newsletter, copy editing and managing content on our website. It’s a fast-paced environment here, so please don’t apply if you’re not willing to be a bit overwhelmed.

We are located just a few miles north of Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake in the West, and near Glacier National Park, affectionately known as the “American Alps.” You also get the opportunity to work with a driven group of journalists who still think this job is fun.
