Grand Central Publishing (formerly Warner Books) came into existence in 1970 when Warner Communications acquired the Paperback Library, subsequently publishing paperback reprints editions of such bestsellers as Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird and Umberto Eco’s The Name Of The Rose. In 1980, Warner Books launched its hardcover publishing program, and from the beginning enjoyed success with such blockbusters as John Naisbitt’s Megatrends, Andrew Greeley’s The Cardinal Sins, and Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw’s Life Extension.

In the 1990s they continued to add to that impressive list with such landmark bestsellers as Robert James Waller’s The Bridges Of Madison County, James Redfield’s The Celestine Prophecy, and Sarah Ban Breathnach’s Simple Abundance. What to expect

The person selected for this 9-week internship will work closely with an Executive Editor to evaluate manuscripts. In addition he/she will shadow typical daily activities like attending meetings with authors and editorial meetings. The goal of the internship is to give a sense of all of the stages in getting a book from idea all the way to production.
