Pitchfork is an online music magazine founded in 1996. The site provides comprehensive, accurate, and discerning coverage of music with a special emphasis on independent music. Above all Pitchfork has a point of view; in an era when music criticism is seen to be on the decline, Pitchfork remains focused on in-depth and thoughtful analysis that’s not afraid to have an opinion. In addition to reviews, Pitchfork is committed to cutting edge design and programming that explore the possibilities of storytelling in the digital era.

What to expect

The RealArts@Penn internship at Pitchfork will get an inside look at how a busy online magazine functions on a day-to-day basis. Regular duties will include fact-checking reviews and features, editorial research, and production work in the site’s CMS. The right candidate will also have the opportunity to write for the site and can expect feedback from editors on how to grow as a writer. This post graduation experience is a 6 month internship at Pitchfork.
