Joining the team
The Santiago-Frangos lab is looking for talented scientists to join our group. If you are interested in joining our vibrant team, please follow the instructions below to apply.
Undergraduates
The Department of Biology and Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowship are great resources for navigating your foray into research. Check out our posts in the CURF Research Directory and PURM program.
Opportunities in the lab will range from paid jobs (e.g., work-study) to independent research projects under the mentorship of a senior lab member.
I encourage you to reach out to Andrew with a short email explaining why you want to work in the lab, any prior research experience (past experience is not required), your career goals, the number of hours per week you can commit to the lab, and an unofficial copy of your transcript.
Graduate students
Please email Andrew a brief description of your past research experience, research interests and goals in the Santiago-Frangos lab, and your CV.
We are affiliated with and are accepting students from UPenn’s Biology Graduate Group, Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics Graduate Group, Microbiology, Virology, and Parasitology Program, and the Genomics and Computational Biology Graduate Group. Students in other programs should still feel free to reach out though!
Post-docs
Our lab takes a multidisciplinary approach to science, so we welcome applicants from a broad range of scientific backgrounds (e.g., virologists, biochemists, computational biologists, structural biologists, etc.), who have a strong interest in our research program.
Interested applicants should email Andrew a CV along with the names of three potential references. Please also attach a cover letter that summarizes your doctoral research, your research interests, why you are interested in joining our lab, and your short- and long-term career goals.
