Hey everyone! I grew up in Lancaster, PA and attended West Virginia University for my undergraduate degree in Chemistry. Before coming to UPenn I spent a year in Łódź, Poland teaching English at a medical and research institution as an ETA in the Fulbright Program. Here at Penn I am part of the organic division and am a member of the Matthews Lab which focuses on the discovery of post-translational modifications (PTMS) using proteomic techniques. Outside of the lab, I enjoy embroidering hoop art, exploring flea and farmers’ markets, running, and eating all the food and coffee Philadelphia has to offer. I joined WIC to have a supportive community of fellow woman scientists (my gal pals) and to promote positive effective change in this department for all who are here or wish to come here.
