I grew up in Los Angeles, California and moved to Philadelphia to go to Swarthmore College. I worked as a Chemist at DuPont Central Research & Development, Materials Science researching lithium ion batteries. I then served as Chief of Staff for the Director of CR&D, Materials Science. I’m now in the organic division in the Smith Lab. I’m on the ACES Board and I recently started as a Fellow at the Penn Center for Innovation. When I get to leave the chemistry building, I like to bake with excessive amounts of chocolate, do yoga, and ride my bike around the city. It’s important to cultivate strong support networks for ladies in STEM fields; I participate in WIC to help build such a community of women within the chemistry department.
