Penn Women in STEM Symposium 2020

February 11th of 2020 Women in Chemistry will be hosting the Penn Women in STEM Symposium.

We are excited to announce our keynote speaker will be Prof. Jen Heemstra of Emory University. The Heemstra Lab focuses on harnessing the molecular recognition and self-assembly properties of nucleic acids for applications in biosensing and bioimaging. Prof. Heemstra initially became known for her mentoring style through the advice and guidance she offers via her twitter page. In March 2019  she was given a monthly advice column by C&EN to answer questions posed to her by members of the scientific community around important topics such as mental health, self doubt and creativity (https://cen.acs.org/education/graduate-education/Meet-CENs-new-advice-columnist/97/i13

We have opened registration. Abstracts for oral presentations (15 minutes) will close January 13th, and submissions for posters will close February 3rd. Free lunch will be provided for all who register.
