  • Graduate student Samantha Klasfeld talks about epigenomic data analysis in CAMB/BIOL 483
Wagner Lab graduate student Samantha Klasfeld introduced the CAMB/BIOL 483 class to a wide array of genome-wide sequencing technologies and then focused on the logic needed to inform quality control and analysis of these types of data sets.
  • SAMANTHA KLASFELD ORGANIZES AND TEACHES INTRODUCTORY PYTHON BOOTCAMP
Balancing lab with the classroom, Wagner Lab graduate student Samantha Klasfeld worked with other graduate students in her graduate program (Genomics and Computational Biology) to build an 8-week curriculum to teach other UPenn graduates, undergraduates, faculty, and more the basics of programming in python. Topics of the course include: Conditional (If/Then) Statements Loops Custom Functions…
  • RUN JIN VOLUNTEERS TO TEACH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BIOLOGY
Wagner Lab Graduate Student Run Jin stepped out of our lab to volunteer her time to work as a lab assistant for the Biomedical Research Academy.  This three week program gives highly motivated high school students from across the world (40% international students) a unique insight into biomedical research. Recruiting around 100 students every summer,…
  • SAMANTHA KLASFELD VOLUNTEERS AT 4TH AND 5TH GRADE SCIENCE FAIR
Samantha Klasfeld along with a few other graduate students volunteered their time as Science Fair Judges for the Lower School Fair for 4th and 5th grades. It was a unique opportunity to see the local school’s science program, support the love of science learning and chat with some of the junior scientists.
  • RUN JIN TEACHES SUPERLAB
This semester, lab member Run Jin is teaching a Superlab (authentic research conducted by undergrads) on PIR and PRC2 in Arabidopsis  (funded by NSF MCB MCB-1614355)
  • DR. DORIS WAGNER VISITS FRIENDS CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL
Dr. Doris Wagner spoke to students about Epigenetics in plants at the Friends Central High School Biology in a lab class taught by Dr. Sonia Chin.
  • WAGNER LAB PARTICIPATED IN BIOL425 CLASS
This semester Run Jin was a TA for Dr. John Wagner's investigative biology class where open-ended, interesting biological problems are explored using modern lab techniques. Topics may include protein structure/function studies; genetic screens, genomics and gene expression studies; proteomics and protein purification techniques; and molecular cloning and DNA manipulation. Dr. Doris Wagner is a collaborator…
