How do our online studies work?
As of now, all of our online research with children is conducted over Zoom. Typically, these sessions last around 15 minutes. To sign-up for a timeslot, you should fill out the form on the study you are interested in, and a researcher will contact you with a sign-up link. From there, you will be able to see what times we have available.
What if I want to sign up for a study, but cannot make any of the times on the calendar?
We are more than happy to work with your schedule to the best of our abilities! If this happens, you can simply respond to the email with the sign-up link to talk to a researcher.
Do I need to do anything during a session?
As of now, our studies are run entirely by the researcher via Zoom, so what you do during a session is up to you!
Parents are always welcome and encouraged to sit with their child while they are participating, but we do ask that you do not correct your child’s responses. It is important that we hear what your child thinks!
Can my child stop the study if they don’t want to participate anymore?
You or your child can stop the study at any time! It is very important to us that both you and your child are on board with the study the entire way through.
What if I have questions about the study?
There are several things you can do, depending on when you want us to answer your questions!
If you have questions before signing up, before your scheduled time, or after your child has participated, you can always contact us via the Contact Us! page or by emailing us directly at langcoglabweb@gmail.com.
During the session, we prefer to restrict questions to either before the study begins or after your child has finished the study. If you have concerns while your child is participating, we are more than happy to discuss them then, however we do ask that any general questions be held until the end of the study. I promise we will always make sure you have the opportunity to ask any questions before signing off!
