Arsel grew up in Kupang, Indonesia, and earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry Education from Nusa Cendana University, NTT. During his undergraduate studies, he focused on developing magnetic graphene oxide materials and ionic imprinting polymers for the selective adsorption of heavy metals. Now a graduate student in the Mallouk group, Arsel is researching 2D layered inorganic structures (LDH) to enhance transmembrane conductivity.
