Lion grew up in Sindelfingen, Germany. He completed his undergraduate degree at Eberhard Karl University of Tübingen, where he received a B.S. in Nanoscience. During his undergraduate career, Lion developed Rare-earth-metal half-sandwich complexes incorporating methyl, methylidene, and hydrido ligands. He then completed his M.S. at the University of Bayreuth, Germany, were he is now a graduate student working on porous photocatalysts for overall water splitting. Currently, Lion is working in the Mallouk group as a visiting scholar. Outside of the research lab, Lion is looking forward to explore Philadelphia and he bravely decided to trust Sam’s food tips.
