Akshay Venkatesh grew up in Chennai, India. He completed his undergraduate degree at Birla Institute of Technology and Science-Pilani, K K Birla Goa campus, where he received a MSc in Chemistry and a BE in Mechanical Engineering. During his undergraduate career, Akshay focussed his research on Electrochemiluminescence and it’s diagnostic applications.

Currently, as a graduate student in the Mallouk group, Akshay is working on understanding mass transport phenomena in alkaline fuel cells.

Outside of research, Akshay enjoys theatre, films, reading, and watching and pretending to play football.
