Jeff McNeill grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate degree at West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he receive his B.S. in chemistry and minor in physics. During his undergraduate career, Jeff spent one summer studying natural products total synthesis with Prof. Bjorn Söderberg (WVU) and another summer focusing on EPR-based protein studies with Prof. Alexey Silakov (PSU).

Currently, as a graduate student in the Mallouk group, Jeff researches in the field of active matter, with a particular focus on developing microsystems powered by acoustics and catalysis.

Outside of the research lab, Jeff enjoys outdoor activities such as biking, swimming, hiking, fishing, and hanging out with friends!
