Jeremy Hitt grew up in Alabaster, Alabama. He completed his undergraduate degree at The University of Alabama, where he majored in chemistry and physics and minored in mathematics. During his undergraduate career, Jeremy studied water splitting catalysts and nanoscale conductivity mapping using atomic force microscopy.

Currently, as a graduate student in the Mallouk group, Jeremy divides his research efforts between developing catalysts for CO2 electroreduction and designing catalyst supports for alkaline fuel cells.

Outside of the lab, Jeremy spends his time reading, playing video games and staying active. Jeremy has traveled to many places around the world and enjoys experiencing new cultures, scenery and foods.
