Undergraduate
There are a variety of ways for undergraduate students to incorporate Persian into their experience at the University of Pennsylvania. Beyond taking Persian to fulfill a language requirement, the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations offers a Language Certificate in Persian in addition to the concentration in Persian Language and Literature for majors and minors. Students can also apply course credits in Persian to either a major or minor in Modern Middle East Studies at the Middle East Center. Persian even counts towards the major and minor in South Asian Studies. Students of the Persian Language Program have participated in the Boren Awards Program, the Critical Language Scholarship Program, and the Fulbright Program.
