Undergraduate
There are a variety of ways for students to incorporate Persian into their undergraduate experience at Penn. Beyond taking Persian as an elective or to fulfill a langauge requirement, students have the option to concetrate in Persian Language and Literature as a major or minor in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (NELC). Likewise, students can also apply their study of Persian to either a minor or major in Modern Middle East Studies. Alternatively, students can receive a Language Certificate from NELC. Students can fund their studies of Persian at Penn with Foreign Language Area Studies Scholarship. Other opportunities for students of Persian include the Boren Awards, the Critical Language Scholarship, and Fulbright Program.
