SAS Staff Recognition Program
We are excited to reintroduce The SAS Staff Recognition Program for fiscal year 2024.
The Staff Recognition Program is an opportunity to recognize individual staff for their ingenuity, contributions and dedication in their respective roles, furthering The School of Arts and Sciences mission of excellence.
The evaluation and the ultimate determination of the award is based on an individual’s extraordinary performance throughout this year’s performance cycle: May 1, 2023 through April 30, 2024.
Program Guidelines
The Staff Recognition Program honors staff members whose extraordinary contributions are consistent with Penn’s Focus on Tomorrow, applying the values of Penn’s in Principle and Practice: (Please read Penn’s detailed strategic framework.)
Below are the guiding principles:
- Accelerate interdisciplinary pursuits: enhance interdisciplinary connections across various fields while also emphasizing the importance of arts and humanities in promoting understanding and problem-solving.
- Lead on great challenges of our time: commitment to supporting Penn’s efforts to address climate change, advance public health efforts, lead data-driven research, promote democratic values.
- Grow opportunity and strengthen affinity: Recruit and support diverse and exceptional staff, faculty, and students and prioritize campus planning that will serve its community for generations to come.
- Deepen connection with neighbors and the world: Engage in collaborative urban initiatives and leverage academic expertise to address pressing urban challenges.
- Foster leadership and service: Cultivate service-minded faculty, staff, and student leaders, deliver best-in-class instruction, and promote collaboration and communication across divisions and divides.
Nomination Process
- The SAS Staff Recognition Program will be administered by a committee which includes non-exempt and exempt SAS staff in good standing and a faculty member.
- For the 2024 Fiscal Year, there will be four Staff Recognition award levels:
- Platinum $5,000
- Gold $3,000
- Silver $1,500
- Bronze $750
- Individual staff members may nominate themselves for their own accomplishments, and are encouraged to nominate other deserving staff within SAS.
- The committee reserves the right to verify all information with the nominee’s supervisor.
- Nominators should feel free to share the nomination information with the nominee if you so choose.
- SAS is highlighting exceptional, individual performance only. There are no Team Awards.
