The general topic of these lectures falls under the heading “Uncertainty in Statistical Inference in the Social Sciences”. We will examine to what extent confidence intervals of causal effects reported in the literature are consistent with empirical frequencies. This might appear to be a hopeless endeavor because the true parameters/causal effects are never observed, but let’s see what we can do…
